Hot Zinc
MetaFlame spray zinc coating is a process in which molten or softened particles of zinc are applied by impact onto substrate.
Hot zinc spray is applied to the substrate within four hours of it being blast cleaned. This gives the substrate an extremely high resistance to corrosion. It is particularly suited to offshore metalwork fabrications and decorative metalwork (e.g. balustrades, railings, gates, posts, balconies etc.) that are exposed to the elements.
After the application of hot zinc spray, a decorative finish in either a powder coat or a more specialised wet coat finish can be applied.
Applying zinc to a substrate is recommended for atmospheric protection of iron and steel and also for the protection in salt and freshwater immersion. Zinc is normally 99.9% pure and is not contaminated in the spraying process.
